Three killed in severe car crash in Targoviste

A priest from Gheboaia, Dambovita County, his wife and teenage daughter were killed Tuesday night in a road crash in Targoviste, when their Dacia 1300 was frontally rammed by a BMW registered in Bucharest, with three occupants on board, Mediafax reports.

According to the Dambovita County Police Inspectorate, five ambulances responded to the emergency call – four sent by the Targoviste Ambulance Service and one by SMURD. “The impact was very violent and the medics tried to resuscitate the three victims – man, woman and girl – as soon as they arrived, but they declared them dead after an hour. The three occupants of the BMW, two men and a woman, were taken to the Targoviste Emergency Hospital in order to establish the driver’s blood alcohol concentration,” said the spokeswoman of IPJ Dambovita, commissary Mihaela Savu.

According to witnesses, the BMW was speeding at more than 100 km/h and, when it reached a sloped railway crossing point, it jumped and hit the other car, which was about to turn left. According to preliminary data gathered by Police, the driver of the BMW apparently is another priest, from Glodeni, Dambovita. (A.C.)
