Romanian tennis player Monica Niculescu qualified on Wednesday for the second round of the WTA tournament in Indian Wells (California), total prizes USD 3,645 M, after defeating Australia’s Anastasia Rodionova, score 6-3, 6-1. Niculescu will receive USD 11,500 and 80 WTA points and will next play against France’s Marion Bartoli (top seed 15). America’s Coco Vandeweghe defeated Romania’s Edina Gallovits-Hall in the first round, score 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, while Russia’s Alla Kudryavtseva defeated Romania’s Sorana Cirstea in the same round, score 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
