MPs take two days off on March 14-15

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies decided on Wednesday that lawmakers will not hold Parliament sessions on Monday and Tuesday, at the request of Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania MPs who wish to attend March 15 Hungarian Revolution Day events, according to Mediafax. On these two days, all lawmakers will conduct activities in their constituencies.


In the Senate, the decision was made with 61 votes in favour, two against and one abstention. In the Chamber of Deputies, most lawmakers voted for the proposal, only two abstentions being reported. Those who abstained from voting were two opposition MPs.
