New presidents at PDL Bacau, Constanta

The Democrat Liberal Party (PDL) Bacau and Constanta county organisations elected new leaders this weekend. In Bacau, Senator Gabriel Berca was elected the president of the county organization, being also the only candidate for this office. Berca is a former Liberal, who has been in PDL for less than a year, since June 2010. In Constanta, a fiercer battle was waged between the three contenders for the office. The director of the County Inspectorate for Constructions, Gigi Chiru, emerged victorious in the second round of elections, over the head of the Romanian Naval Authority, Paul Branza, by over 150 votes. Another round of elections will be organized, this week, to appoint the deputy and first deputy presidents of the Constanta organisation, after the previous round for their election trailed on Saturday and a large number of deputies left.
