Oil products leaked into the Danube River in Mehedinti County on Friday evening. According to the specialists, the oil leaked from a Croatian ship that transited the area. According to Ramona Nistor, spokesperson of the Mehedinti County’s Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), the oil slick was 8 kilometers long and 20 meters wide. Adrian Draghici, director of Mehedinti County’s Water Management System, stated that measures were taken in order to neutralize the oil slick.
