PDL wants election law change: Constituency winners to join Parliament

The PDL leadership yesterday discussed changes to election legislation so that parliamentary elections are won by candidates who obtain the highest number of votes in constituencies, party spokesperson Sever Voinescu said, quoted by Mediafax. “In other words, we should end this situation in which by all sorts of calculations, we have representatives of a constituency who won the second or even third place in the elections,” Voinescu said.

The party also discussed public administration legislation along with election laws and aims at having them tabled in Parliament before the summer vacation, according to the spokesperson.
