Hilton Worldwide announced, yesterday, the signing of a franchise development agreement with SC Valdor Ltd, owned by the Ploiesti businessman Doru Morcovescu, to open a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Ploiesti, a press release informs. The hotel conversion project is placed in a strategic position and will be inaugurated under the name DoubleTree by Hilton Ploiesti in the course of this year, after its redecoration and extensive modernization. DoubleTree by Hilton means to open three hotels in Romania this year, in Oradea, Bucharest and Ploiesti. At the same time, the Ploiesti project will be the seventh Hilton Worldwide hotel in its brand portfolio, operating or in progress at a national level, under the brands Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hampton by Hilton.
With a capacity of 242 guest rooms, the hotel will be complete with two restaurants, a garden bar, a fitness centre, a pool and a spa centre. The guests will be able to use, as well, the business centre and the hotel’s meeting and conference hall.
Rob Palleschi, Global Head DoubleTree by Hilton, stated: “The third Romanian hotel DoubleTree by Hilton, which will be the object of the Ploiesti deal, marks an important expansion for us in Eastern Europe.”
