9,500 homes for the military

The National Defence Minister, Gabriel Oprea, stated, on Friday, in a press conference, that the home-building projects run in partnership with the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MDRT) would cover 9,500 out of the 10,000 homes that the military needs. “So far we’ve signed with MDRT contracts to build homes in 16 counties, on land which belonged to the army, covering a total surface of 430 hectares. The Defence Ministry was allotted 7,000 homes out of these projects,” Oprea said. The latest such project presupposes the building of over 10,000 homes in Ghencea, in Bucharest, in partnership with the National Housing Agency (ANL) and the Sector 5 Mayor’s Office. Out of these, the army will be allotted over 2,500 homes. The minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Elena Udrea, wrote, in Friday, on her personal page on Facebook, that the 10,000 homes to be built by ANL in Ghencea should lead to a reduction of housing prices in Bucharest
