PSD wants to remove Florentin Pandele from the position of Voluntari mayor

The Voluntari branch of PSD yesterday asked the Prosecutor’s Office to take note that the mandate of Florentin Pandele as mayor of the town has ceased, branch leader Mihai Barbu said for Mediafax. The head of PSD Voluntari filed Tuesday a complaint at the Prosecutor’s Office, in which it requests the termination of Pandele’s mandate as Voluntari mayor, because he infringed the Law of Local Elects by joining another party, UNPR, before he formally left PSD. The local leader initially reported the case to the Prefect’s Office, on August 31, 2010. The institution answered, early in October, that Pandele has all the documents required by law and may keep his position as mayor. According to the Law on the Statute of Local Elects, the mandate of mayor ends before term if the person who holds it loses the quality of member of the political party or of the national minority organisation on whose lists he was elected.
