Radu Gabrea, head of 2011 Bucharest Film Festival jury

The filmmaker Radu Gabrea was appointed the chairman of the jury in the official competition of the seventh edition of the Bucharest International Film Festival – Bucharest IFF -, to take place between April 11 and 17, the organizers announced.

Conceived as a festival open to art cinema, which encourages new trends, discovers fresh talents and promotes young filmmakers, who have already made a name for themselves inside the country or in international competitions, Bucharest IFF stays true to its tradition this year as well, organizing a feature film competition in which the best films will be awarded the Bucharest International Film Festival trophy, the best cinematography award, the critics’ award and the public’s award. Alongside the already consecrated official jury, whose chairman is the Romanian director Radu Gabrea, this year, for the first time since its launch, the festival will also have a critics’ jury, made up of Manuela Cernat, Cristina Corciovescu and Dana Duma, FIPRESCI members.
