EUR 500,000 equipment lies idle for lack of doctors

There are no doctors left at the Intensive Care Unit of the Victor Babes Hospital in Timisoara, which means equipment worth EUR 500,000 stays idle from lack of specialized staff, according to realitatea.net. The hospital management holds that hospital rooms with equipment worth hundreds of thousands of euros stay close, as the ministry has frozen medical staff jobs. The new Intensive Care Unit needs two doctors, 7 assistants and seven ancillary staff to operate. The unit, which has latest generation equipment, consists of three one-bed hospital rooms and one two-bed room.
