Gazprom would like to develop hydrocarbon fields in the Black Sea

Russian petroleum company Gazprom Neft, a member of the Gazprom Group, contemplates developing crude oil and natural gas fields in the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, Mediafax quoted Ria Novosti as reporting. “Gazprom Neft is seeking to participate in tenders for new fields, including marine ones. As we speak, developing marine fields is a strategic priority for the company,” said Viktor Savelyev, head of the Prospecting and Production Division of Gazprom Neft, who added that petroleum and natural gas exploitation projects in the Black Sea are attractive for the company, provided it gets tax breaks of the sort it enjoys for developing marine fields in the north. “We have in view mostly the Tuapse depression, and other Black Sea areas as well,” Savelyev said.
