Pianist Vassilis Tsabropoulos in recital at National Theatre

The Bucharest National Theatre, in partnership with the Green Hours jazz café, present, within the TNB Parateatral-Music program, the recital Modern Solo Piano 2 – featuring Vassilis Tsabropoulos. The event is scheduled for tomorrow, starting 7 pm, at TNB’s Atelier Hall. The “solo piano” recital series, featuring internationally acclaimed musicians, part of the TNB Parateatral-Music program, which started in November 2010, with the concert of exceptional Swiss jazz musician Nik Bärtsch, continues with the recital of Greek pianist Vassilis Tsabropoulos, another major name of modern piano art. A reputed classical pianist (a graduate of the National Conservatory in Athens, who went on to study, on an Onassis grant, at the Paris Conservatory, Salzburg Academy and the Julliard School), Tsabropoulos collected accolades, in the past years, as a virtuoso of piano improvisation and composition. In 2000, he signed a contract with ECM Records. The artist will offer a selection of works from his latest album, titled “The Promise”, edited by the famous label ECM Records. “The Promise” features 11 original musical miniatures, profoundly poetic and of exceptional sensibility. The concert will be opened by the mini-recital of a promising Romanian pianist, only 13, Daria Ioana Tudor.
