Radio Romania Muzical turns 14

Yesterday, Radio Romania Muzical, the only Romanian radio station dedicated to classical music, jazz & more, marked its 14th anniversary by launching a new edition of the project “Listen to 5 minutes of classical music”. The principle is simple: broadcasting classical music for five minutes, daily, in as many unconventional venues as possible, other than concert halls, preferably, places visited by a large number of people.

Running until April 23, the programme will include, on a daily basis, broadcasting a reference work from the classical repertoire, accompanied by a short advertisement of the project and details on the work in question.
At the same time, the project “Listen to 5 minutes of classical music” will be run in schools in several places across the country.

Pupils and teachers can take part in the competitions organized by Radio Romania Muzical, as follows: for 2nd to 5th grade pupils – writing an essay titled “What classical music suggests to me”, inspired by listening to one of the works included in the project or any other classical work. “The ideal music class to develop one’s taste for music” is the topic of the essay with which primary and lower secondary school teachers may enter the competition. The time for sending in the essays is April 26 to May 26. Prizes include PC tablets, vouchers for buying books and CDs, offered by Allview Romania and Humanitas Bookshops, as well as tickets for the 2011 edition of the George Enescu Festival. The juries will be made up of representatives of Radio Romania Muzical and music teachers.
