Senate hearings on Cernavoda nuclear power plant safety

The leadership of the National Commission for the Control of Nuclear Activities (CNCAN) took part in hearings within the Senate’s Economic Commission yesterday. According to Wikileaks, the Cernavoda nuclear power plant is risky because CNCAN is incapable of intervening in case of disaster, realitatea.net informs. American officials mention that in a cable dated January 28, 2009. In 2008 an American diplomat paid several visits to the Cernavoda nuclear power plant.
