Senate’s Legal Committee rejects mail vote

The bill initiated by PDL to introduce the mail vote for Romanians in the diaspora was rejected, on Tuesday, by the Senate’s Legal Committee. The bill was denounced, by the PSD and National Liberal Party (PNL) senators, as an attempt to set up a “mechanism” which would help rig the vote of Romanians in the diaspora. “Desperate to think it will lose elections in the country, the ruling party wants to create a mechanism which would allow it to rig the vote abroad, seeing it worked during the presidential elections. If they could steal votes within 12 seconds in Paris, why couldn’t they steal some more within two seconds in New York?”, the Liberal Ioan Ghise stated.
