Sorin Buta resigns from PDL

Deputy Sorin Buta, declared as a collaborator of former Securitate, has resigned from PDL, the leader of the Democratic-Liberal group in the Chamber of Deputies, Mircea Toader announced. According to Toader, Buta resigned on his own initiative, because he does not want to tarnish the image of the party. Sorin Buta claims that judicial proceedings in his case are not over yet. According to Mircea Toader, the party sent Buta the message that he must sort his problems with justice and, if he is proven as victim of an abuse, he will be reinstated in the party, else he will remain outside PDL.
