Three officers of the Bucharest Brigade of Countering Organised Crime (BCCO) – a bureau chief and two subalterns – were sent in court by anti-corruption prosecutors, who accuse them of requesting EUR 3,000 in order to issue a negative analysis certificate for ethnobotanical drugs. According to prosecutors, Georgel Ovidiu Negura demanded someone (who later denounced him) to pay him a bribe of EUR 3,000. For this sum, the BCCO officer should have convinced the employees of the Drug Analysis Laboratory to issue a negative analysis certificate for the ethnobotanhical drugs belonging to a suspect in a case of drug trafficking. The three officers were put on preventive arrest.
