Romanian exporters want to take part in Japan’s reconstruction

Romanian exporters formed, within the Romanian Exporters’ and Importers’ Association (ANEIR), an intervention cell to assist in the reconstruction of Japan, a press release reports. Thus, local companies can provide approx. USD 200 M-worth of timber. ANEIR is awaiting the demands of the Japanese Timber-Importers’ Association, to see which products are needed in the reconstruction process. “As soon as the technical-economic and financial parameters of our collaboration (including support from Eximbank) are perfected, all the requested materials will be shipped promptly, and we have already been forewarned of the Japanese users’ high exigencies regarding quality,” the release reads. Based on the preliminary estimates, ANEIR appreciates Romanian suppliers could deliver approx. USD 200 M-worth of timber, particularly coniferous wood.
