USL members in Bucharest City Council to back Oprescu

The 24 USL members on the Bucharest City Council (CGMB) – 16 from PSD and eight from the National Liberal Party (PNL) – will vote in favour of the projects promoted by the general mayor of Bucharest, Sorin Oprescu, the USL board decided, on Monday, according to an announcement made by the PSD leader Victor Ponta. “The fact that the Government’s budget became a personal one, the budget of Mrs. Udrea and her clients, is ample proof that we have to save Bucharest from these mob-like methods of using public money,” Ponta stated. He added, commenting on recent statements made by the president of the PNL Bucharest organization, Andrei Chiliman, according to whom USL’s agreement on Bucharest had not been signed because of PSD, that the vote in CGMB would be the USL’s most important test in Bucharest.
