More than half of the retailers present in Romania posted sales increases up to 30 pc last year, finds a survey conducted by the real estate company Colliers, quoted by Mediafax. In Bucharest, the top performing malls last year were AFI Palace Cotroceni, Baneasa and Bucuresti Mall. The survey took into account the answers provided by over 100 retailers, present in Bucharest and other location throughout Romania. Most retailers had better results last year than in 2009, when their sales had dropped by 10 to 30 pc. The shops hosted by the best performing malls of Bucharest posted in 2010 average sales per square metre that were 25 pc higher than the sales achieved by the best performing malls from the rest of the country. The survey reveals that the latter category is rapidly narrowing the gap, which had been of 40 pc in 2009. ΩBased on the results posted by retailers in 2009, the best performing commercial centers in Bucharest were Bucuresti Mall and Unirea Shopping Center.
