Foreign Ministry advises Romanians to leave Ivory Coast

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) advises Romanian citizens to avoid travelling to Ivory Coast, while people who find themselves in the West African country are advised to leave the area at once. Romanian citizens who are currently in Ivory Coast are advised to contact urgently the Romanian Embassy in Senegal and to make their presence known, sending off their coordinates, so they can be informed on a regular basis of means of requesting consular assistance and the situation in the area. According to MAE, the political situation in Ivory Coast is volatile, and reports are coming in of armed confrontations and acts of violence, including against civilians.
