Two state secretary positions at Transport Ministry dismantled

The Government dismantled two state secretary positions from the Transport Ministry’s organizational scheme, but decided, at the same time, that institution should act as management authority for projects in the sector financed out of external non-reimbursable funds allotted to Romania by the EU, Mediafax reports. The ministry’s organizational scheme includes, at present, four state secretary positions, out of which only two are filled. The maximum number of positions in the scheme, exclusively dignitary positions and offices associated to the minister’s Cabinet, was supplemented by two offices, however, at 516 employees. Meanwhile, the main prerogatives of the ministry were extended, by granting it the right to manage financial assistance out of non-reimbursable European funds granted to Romania for the transport sector, within the limits of its activity domain, as well as the right to act as management authority for projects financed out of these funds.
