Boxing: Lucian Bute to defend title in Romania

Romanian boxer Lucian Bute announced during a press conference on Friday that he will play his next bout in Romania. On July 8, Bute will put his IBF super middleweight title on the line for the 8th time. The boxer has an agreement with the Regional Development and Tourism Ministry in order to promote the country brand. Bute does not know where the event will take place. Rom­expo and the ‘Ioan Kunst Gherma­nescu’ Hall have been rumored as possible locations. Likewise, the world title holder does not know who his challenger will be. “Ever since I won the world title I wanted to defend it in my country. I’m Romanian and proud of it. Many Romanians have rooted for me and I’m about to see one of my dreams come true. I want to make all of my fans happy and I will give everything in the arena in order to win my first bout in Romania,” Bute stated.
