Dan Diaconescu changes party name

Dan Diaconescu Friday announced he is changing the name of his party from People’s Party into Dan Diaconescu People’s Party (PPDD), mentioning that he will bring in court        Monday morning a new batch of signatures and try register his political grouping, yet again,” Realitatea TV reports. The Cotroceni aspirant also said he had collected “430,000 signatures, in excess of the 10,000 from each of the branches. He joked saying that, were their bid to be turned down once again, they would even add the word “Direct” to the party’s name. “If we are turned down again, we will add Direct and OTV and whatever more might be needed,” Diaconescu told “Realitatea” TV. According to a CURS opinion poll March 10-28, the People’s Party accounts for 8 per cent in voter preference, although Diaconescu claims the party’s popularity rate being much higher actually.
