EximBank focuses on supporting exports and drawing EU funds

Supporting exports and drawing EU funds are the main two directions of the business strategy of EximBank, the President of EximBank, Ionut Costea, said during a business meeting. EximBank officials pointed to the fact that export is now the main factor which actively contributes to the recovery of the Romanian economy, given the upwards dynamics experienced this year. Therefore, a new economic model is needed that will rely on incentives for exports, and EximBank can provide effective solutions for exporting companies.

„Given the relatively low weight held by export in the Gross Domestic Product, of about 30 pc, a much higher rate of EU funds absorption should be attained in order to overcome the crisis. Here, too, EximBank can provide complementary solutions to support the business environment, in its effort to obtain European money”, EximBank President Ionut Costea stated.

The product portfolio of EximBank, developed along three main lines – financing, guarantee and insurance – allows the bank to assist the activity and development of exporter firms, of SMEs and of the companies involved in projects for key economic sectors, particularly of those that contribute to the absorption of EU funds.

The financing package of the bank can include both standard loans for current business or investments, and specific products that work as state aid: loans at a subsidised interest rate and the partial rate offset that allows recovering up to 50 pc of the interest paid for the RON-denominated investment credits taken from other banks.

The state guarantees extended by EximBank come in support of those companies that need loans, but lack enough collaterals. The state guarantees extended by EximBank take over a significant part of the crediting risk, so using them secures an easier access to financing.
In its activity as insurer, EximBank covers the commercial and political risks that may appear during international commercial transactions or while implementing investment projects run by Romanian companies abroad.

Companies interested by the products of EximBank may apply directly to the territorial units of the bank, located in Bucharest, Bacau, Brasov, Constanta, Cluj, Craiova, Timisoara, Buzau, Oradea, Deva, Iasi and Sibiu.
