“Viva Verdi” – exceptional concert at Athenaeum

150th anniversary of Italy’s Unification and Ansaldo’s 30th anniversary in Romania

The Italian Embassy to Romania and Ansaldo Nucleare organized, last Satur­day, an exceptional concert at the Romanian Athenaeum to mark the 150th anniversary of Italy’s Uni­fication. Soloists of the San Carlo Theatre, from Naples, alongside soprano Sabrina Messina and tenor Enzo Errico delighted the public with famous arias by Verdi and Puccini, met with standing ovations. Among those who attended the concert were prominent figures from the Roma­nian political and business life, such as: the Speaker of the Senate, Mircea Geoana, the Economy Minister, Ion Ariton, Roberto Adinolfi, the CEO of Ansaldo Nucleare, HE the Italian Ambassador to Bucharest, Mario Cospito, and numerous Romanian and Italian entrepreneurs. “We have joined forces with our Roma­nian friends and we’ve managed to build and get running the first two units of the Cernavoda Nuclear Plant, a facility central to Romanian economy (…) And, since we are here celebrating a historic event, namely, 150 years since the Italian Unification, I should remind you Ansaldo is also celebrating an important event this year: 30 years since it started operating in Romania,” the director of Ansaldo Romania, Giovanni Villabruna, said, in his speech.
