Seven persons, including two children, were wounded in a car crash that took place on Tuesday morning on E583 in Iasi County when a lorry slammed into a minibus. The minibus had 15 persons onboard. “The lorry’s driver, a Moldovan citizen, failed to maintain the safe distance between vehicles, slamming into the minibus. The six persons injured were onboard the minibus,” deputy commissioner Virginea Pralea, spokesperson of the Iasi County Police, stated. Six persons were injured in the crash, two of them children. A 60-year-old woman is in the worst condition, being hospitalized with fractured ribs and other traumas.
Several hours earlier another minibus was involved in a car crash in Caras-Severin County, eight persons being injured. The car crash took place on DN58 outside Resita. The minibus skidded, collided with a lorry and came to a standstill in a ditch. Nine teachers were onboard.
Dr. Cosmin Librimir, from the Caras-Severin County Ambulance Service, stated that the minibus’s driver was the worst injured. Firefighters had to extricate him from the mangled wreckage. The man suffered multiple traumas, a fractured thighbone and is unconscious. Doctors are reserved about his chances. A woman sitting on the seat behind the driver was also seriously injured, suffering multiple traumas. The other six persons suffered open fractures, but their lives are not at risk.
