PSD wants to buy Kiseleff HQ

PSD President Victor Ponta confirmed on Monday that the Social-Democrats plan to contract another bank loan in order to buy their current party headquarters located on Kiseleff Boulevard 10. Ponta pointed out that it will be a “short-term loan” and added that its value depends on the bank’s evaluation of the building’s worth. According to sources from within the party’s leadership, quoted by Mediafax, PSD owes EUR 6.6 M to various companies. According to the report on the party’s financial situation, a report discussed on Monday within the Executive Committee, the debt was contracted at the end of 2009. Ponta did not confirm the EUR 6.6 M figure, pointing out that the party is not a state debtor. “It’s hard to identify debt owed to private companies because our treasurer (Aristide Roibu – editor’s note) is now a UNPR member,” he added.
