According to an opinion poll conductedby the imobiliare.ro website,approximately 70 per cent of Romanianswant to buy a house rather than rent one,their preferences mainly centering onthree-room apartments. However, almosthalf of the respondents can make anadvance payment lower than EUR10,000.
For 60 per cent of the respondents itis not important for the house to be new.“Although the price is an important factormost of them would like to buy threeroomapartments (40 per cent), followedby those that would like to buy two-roomapartments (24 per cent), four-roomapartments (22 per cent) and bachelor’sflats (16 per cent),” the study reads,pointing out that 23 per cent of therespondents prefer houses that total 60-80 square meters, 22 per cent prefer thosethat total 80-100 square meters and 17per cent prefer those that total over 100square meters. According to the website’sdata, over half of the respondents wouldbe willing to pay EUR 35-80,000 for ahouse. 16 per cent of the respondentswould be willing to pay EUR 80-100,000, while a similar percentagewould be willing to pay below EUR35,000, Mediafax informs. Only 8 percent of the respondents would afford topay EUR 100-150,000 and only 3 percent would be willing to pay EUR 150-200,000. 49 per cent of the respondentsstated they would be willing to pay belowEUR 10,000 in advance payment.
