Nearly 72,000 cases of acute respiratoryinfections were reported in theweek April 4-10, approx. 7 pc belowthe number reported in the precedingweek, the Ministry of Health (MS)informs, quoting a report of theNational Centre for the Monitoringand Control of Infectious Disease.According to MS, the number of acuterespiratory infections and flu cases inthe past week was 22.8 pc lower thanthe average of the three precedingweeks and slumped below the averagelevel calculated for this season. In fact,MS reports that the flu activityremained low in intensity, only emergingas isolated cases. Thus, eight casesof flu (four of AH1N1 flu and four oftype B-flu) were confirmed, out of thetotal of 816 reported since the beginningof the season (October 2010), outof which four cases in Sibiu, two inBucharest, one in Iasi and yet anotherone in Dolj.
