Forbes: Number of Russian billionaires swells in 2011

The number of Russian billionaires soared, within one year, from 62 to 101, according to the 2011 ranking published, on Friday, by “Forbes”, in which tycoon Vladimir Lisin, the chairman of the metallurgic group NLKM’s Board of Directors, remains the No.1, Realitatea.net reports. In the past 12 months, Lisin’s fortune rose by USD 10 bln, at USD 24 bln, following the rise in raw materials’ prices.

He is followed by the head of the metallurgic group Severstal, Alexei Mordashov, whose fortune nearly doubled, at USD 18.5 bln, and Mikhail Prokhorov, the owner of the investment fund Onexim, with a fortune estimated at USD 18 bln (rising from USD 13.4 bln in 2010). The owner of the Chelsea football club, Roman Abramovich, ranked ninth, with a fortune rising from USD 11.2 bln to USD 13.4 bln.
