Den Braven Romania, the country’s sole producer of polyurethane foam and hotmelt, posted total sales of EUR 8.1 M in Q1 this year, up 25 pc from the EUR 6.5 M achieved a year ago, driven by stronger exports and also by a market share advance at home, reads a press release. The sales of the company on the local market increased by EUR 3 M during January-March 2011, with the most significant sales being achieved through retail chains specialised in building materials. During the first three months of the year, the company had total exports worth EUR 4.8 M, 46 pc higher year-on-year.
According to Adrian State, general manager of Den Braven Romania, the local construction market might experience a slight recovery starting with the second half of this year, due to the government allotting money to public projects, in preparation of the 2012 electoral campaign. For 2011, the company targets a 10 pc turnover increase, against the background of a sales strategy that focuses on increasing market shares in Romania and on higher exports.
