Orochi – J-Rock concert

“Half-dragon, half-band” – this is how the Japanese Rock band Orochi chose to describe itself, drawing its inspiration from ancient Nippon myth and lore. All begins, naturally, with “once upon a time there lived a huge dragon called Yamateno Orochi. His eyes were as red as sparkling blood, he had eight heads and eight tails, as long as the eight valleys. Every year, the monster was brought a virgin sacrifice. However, on hearing about this tragedy, a samurai named Susanoo fights Orochi and cuts all his eight heads off, defeating him.” Thus, his spirit becomes immortal and is passed on to four young samurai, who rule over the Land of the Sun: Ushi-Wake (the strength of the howl), Yuki-Mura (the comfort of a butterfly touch), Mitsu-Hide (the sleepless veil of the night) and Genji-Hotaru (the son of the light of thunder). That is, the J-Rock band Orochi, which you can see, live, on Saturday, at The Silver Church on a tour to promote their latest album, “Soul of Prey”, launched this February.

The price of a ticket: RON 35 pre-sale/ RON 50 on concert night. Tickets can be bought via the Eventim network (Germanos and Vodafone shops, Carturesti and Humanitas bookshops or, online, on www.eventim.ro).

Venue: The Silver Church Club, 7pm
Address: 61 Calea Plevnei
