Women’s handball: Romania qualifies for U19 EC

Romania qualified for the Women’s U19 European Championship on Sunday after defeating Portugal in the decisive game, score 32-22, Agerpres informs. The team coached by Dumitru Musi and Costica Buceschi qualified by winning all three games it played in the qualifiers and will find out its opponents at the final tournament hosted by Netherlands after the draws scheduled on April 27.

After winning its first two games (24-23 against Turkey and 29-18 against Bulgaria), Romania’s U19 team proved its strength in the decisive game against Portugal too. The Women’s U19 European Championship will take place in Netherlands on August 4-14.
