Four Ambassadors presented, yesterday, their credentials to president Traian Basescu at Cotroceni Palace. During his meeting with the new Belgian Ambassador, Philippe Beke, the head of state thanked the Belgian authorities for their support in European affairs and in the Schengen accession process. The Ambassador voiced, in turn, Belgium’s eagerness to assist in fields like healthcare and technical innovation.
During the meeting with the South Korean Ambassador, Im Han-taek, the president addressed the importance of sealing the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Korea, while, during talks with the Croatian Ambassador, Andrea Gustovic Ercegovac, the head of state reiterated Romania’s support for Croatia’s joining the EU. In the meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana, Samuel Valis-Akyianu, Basescu voiced Bucharest’s eagerness to resume political ties and to boost commercial ties with Ghana.
