Over 1,000 people to leave ArcelorMittal plant in 2011

The management of the ArcelorMittal Galati plant announced it had approved 1,050 of the applications for redundancy filed by the company employees in the past three months, within the tenth scheme for voluntary departure initiated by the employers since the privatisation of the plant, Money.ro reports. The 1,050 employees who were given the green lights to leave the plant will receive financial compensation consisting of a fixed amount ranging between RON 25,000 and 30,000 and 10 to 24 compensation wages, depending on their years of experience. According to the spokesman for the steel plant, Dorian Dumitrescu, departures will go on until the end of the year.
