Butterflies in My Stomach at The Ark

Butterflies in My Stomach will concert tonight, in a premiere, at The Ark, as part of the “Live in The Lounge” series.

Butterflies in My Stomach is one of the best-known young nu jazz, funk and acid jazz bands in Romania. Presented by BBC Romania as one of the few bands to promote acid jazz in Romania, Butterflies in My Stomach was selected among the world’s top three new bands in the Electronic section, in a contest initiated by Sony and Billboard magazine in 2006. Made up of six talented artists, Butterflies in My Stomach had several concerts across the country, as well as appearing in some of the most popular national festivals: Stuffstock, Fan Fest, Peninsula and NewJazz.

The Ark offers us a chance to hear live songs from the band’s first album – “Magic Store” – “a Romanian discographic premiere, in a complex and refined musical style… a story that all those who lived, at least once or for a few hours only, the emotion of falling in love, of losing oneself, of blissful chaos, can relate to.”
