May 1st Rock, with Blind Guardian

Under the aegis “May 1st Rock”, rockers in Romania will celebrate Labour Day, on May 1, 2011, by a rock festival. The event, organized by Promusic Prod & Events and “Maximum Rock” magazine, will take place at the Roman Arena in Bucharest. There won’t be a workers’ parade, as was once tradition, but there will certainly be a “parade” of the young (and not so young), sporting the traditional rocker’s outfit.

The headliner of the event will be the celebrated German band Blind Guardian, but there’ll be no shortage of Romanian bands on the bill. On the launch of their new album “At the Edge of Time” and after an excellent American promotion tour, the Germans are preparing a European tour, which will also include Romania, so that, on May 1, 2011, Blind Guardian will meet, once again, their Romanian fans, at Bucharest’s Roman Arena. The album was declared, by the August issue of the prestigious German magazine “Metal Hammer”, the album of the month. Far from having exhausted their resources, the musicians that make up Blind Guardian are walking strong, launching fresh epic works, guiding their fans on a journey filled with folkloric, religious, mythic and literary elements. The opening acts will be the local bands Bolthard and White Walls.

Tickets can be purchased via the Eventim network, from Germanos, Orange, Vodafone and Domo shops, Humanitas bookshops and, online, on www.eventim.ro.

Venue: Roman Arena; Address: 26 Cutitul de Argint St (Carol Park)
