According to “Ring”, the company in which the Democrat Liberal Party (PDL) Arad president, Gheorghe Seculici, is the majority shareholder, signed a RON 1 M-contract with the Education Ministry. The former deputy prime-minister will provide Funeriu’s ministry with the projects for 17 new kindergartens. This is not the first time when Gheorghe Seculici’s firm won generous contracts with the state. According to “Ring”, the company Proiect Arad SA was granted 19 contracts, without a public offering, by the Arad County Council and the Mayor’s Office, where the incumbent mayor is Seculici’s son-in-law, Gheorghe Falca. The contract that the PDL leader’s company has now won with the Education Ministry is funded both out of public funds, as well as from a loan contracted with the European Council’s Bank for Development. Contacted by Realitatea TV, Gheorghe Seculici denied any knowledge of this contract. In the company’s documents at the Register of Trade, Gheorghe Seculici features as the manager and, on the company’s website, under contacts, he is identified as the chairman of the Board of Administrators. Gheorghe Seculici is the father-in-law of Gheorghe Falca, the Arad mayor and Traian Basescu’s godson.
