IMF mission meets BNR officials

The IMF mission led by Jeffrey Franks took part in talks with BNR officials yesterday, the meeting being part of the mission’s audit of the way in which Romania fulfilled the terms of the precautionary agreement, Agerpres informs. According to Jeffrey Franks, the talks “concerned monetary policy, the inflation rate target and the financial sector.” Yesterday the mission also met the members of the Finance Ministry’s leadership.
The 2011-2014 convergence programme shows that in what concerns the monetary policy and the exchange rate BNR’s fundamental goal is to ensure and maintain price stability in line with its statute.
