“Rebecca” music-hall, to premiere at National Operetta Theatre

“Rebecca”, one of the most successful productions signed by the Sylvester Levay (music) & Michael Kunze (libretto) team, Grammy laureates, who also signed the celebrated productions “Mozart!”, “Elisabeth” and “Marie Antoinette”, will premiere at Bucharest’s “Ion Dacian” National Operetta Theatre on May 7, starting 7pm, in a production directed by Attila Beres, the institution informs. Those who won’t be able to make it to the premiere will have a second chance to see the music-hall on May 8.

Produced in collaboration with the Budapest Operetta and Music-Hall Theatre “Rebecca” is based on Daphne de Maurier’s eponymous 1938 novel, which made the English author one of the most famous writers of the age. “Rebecca” was turned into a movie by Oscar-winning director Alfred Hitchcock and was to become one of his most popular productions.
