According to the National Fiscal Administration Agency (ANAF) data, the debts that private companies owe to the state totaled over RON 500 M at the end of March, ‘Evenimentul Zilei’ daily informs. The fiscal service has already initiated forced execution procedures against the ten debtor companies. European Food, a company owned by the Micula brothers, two businessmen present in Top 300, tops the rankings with a debt of no less than RON 120.2 M. In Q1 of this year the company’s debt rose by more than 50 per cent. At the same time, the same brothers’ European Drinks company closes the list of debtor companies, with debts totaling RON 21.13 M at the end of Q1 after dropping from the RON 22.52 M reported on December 31, 2010. The two also control the Transilvania General Import-Export company who is 7th on the list of the ten biggest tax dodger companies. The Silo Impex company fell on second place this year, its debts totaling RON 90.89 M. GA.PI is third with RON 58.57 M. The Timisoara-based company is a retail seller of PCs, peripherals and software. UCM Resita, a company that produces engines and turbines and is owned by INET, is on fourth place, followed by the Valcea County-based Urban company.
