Vintu files petition for temporary release

The layer representing Sorin Ovidiu Vintu – arrested by the Bucharest Court on April 29 – filed a petition for his client’s provisional release under judicial control, a suit filed at the Sector 5 Court, which is to be debated on May 10. Vintu and one of his entourage, Ion Ilie Cezar, were detained for 25 days on charges of blackmail by the High Court’s Prosecutor’s Office, for requesting the manager of Realitatea TV, Sebastian Ghita, to pay EUR 150,000 on a monthly basis. The said amount was requested so Ghita would “be left alone” by Vintu and be allowed to remain the manager at Realitatea.
