A 29-year-old from Suceava was shot, in the stomach, yesterday morning, by a police squad that was chasing after him, after he refused to stop both when verbally summoned to do so and after the police fired warning shots. The young man was driving on the Radauti to Vicovul de Sus route. During a routine check, he was summoned to pull over. As he refused to do so, the police chased after him. The young man’s car was surrounded by police officers, so he abandoned the car and ran. The police summoned him to stop, but he refused to do so. The police officers fired two shots. A bullet hit the young man in the left lumbar region. The doctors in Suceava operated on the young man and decided one of his kidneys had to be removed. The man is now in intensive care, in stable condition. According to the spokesperson for the Suceava County Police, the young man is the object of two criminal investigations for driving without a license.
