Police agent caught shoplifting quits

The Bucharest police have started preliminary procedures for a criminal probe against a police agent caught stealing from a store and the agent has resigned as soon as he learned he was being under investigation, according to Realitatea.net. The agent, working at Bucharest precinct 9, in November last year went to a store to investigate a theft. But according to video footage released by the media, this police agent and a colleague of his pocketed various items from the store during their investigation. Interior Minister Traian Igas promised that the police agents shown in the footage will get tough sanctions if they are proven guilty.
