Pupils saved by gendarmes after getting stuck in snow

A number of 17 pupils from the municipality of Slobozia were saved by mountain gendarmes Sunday, after the school minibus in which they travelled from the Padina Plateau in the Massif Bucegi to Moroieni, Dambovita County, drifted and eventually got stuck in the snow, Mediafax reports. According to the Dambovita Inspectorate of Gendarmerie, it took the gendarmes a couple of hours to clear the snow around the minibus and release the nine children inside, who were taken by a gendarmerie vehicle to Moroieni. Also Sunday, a group of gendarmes managed to find a group of nine pupils from Bucharest, along with their adult companions, who were unable to continue their mountain hike due to exhaustion amid inclement weather.
