League I: Title race heating up

The race for the title is heating up with two legs to go before the end of the season. Otelul won its away game against Victoria Branesti on Monday, score 1-0, securing three important points that keep it in the lead. The game’s only goal was scored by Gabi Paraschiv in the 90th minute. FC Timisoara and FC Vaslui, Otelul’s main contenders, claim that the goal was scored from offside and complain that the referees favor the team coached by Dorinel Munteanu. FC Vaslui is basically out of the race for the title after it finished its game against Astra Ploiesti in a tie, score 1-1. FC Vaslui is now 3rd with 59 points, 7 points behind League leader Otelul. FC Timisoara won its game against Unirea Urziceni (3-1) and is just one point behind the leader. U Craiova lost its game against Dinamo (0-2) and is on the verge of relegation. CFR Cluj and Gloria Bistrita finished their game in a tie, score 2-2.
