Michael York to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at TIFF

One of the most emblematic British actors of the past half-century, Michael York, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, meant to honour great names of European cinema, in the 10th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival, the organizers announced. After Claudia Cardinale, Catherine Deneuve or Franco Nero, York will be one of the next honorary guests of the Cluj-Napoca Film Festival, and the public will have a chance to meet him during a special projection.

The proud owner of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame since 2002, nominated to the 2001 Emmy Award for the Best Guest Star on a Comedy Series (The Lot) and to the Saturn Best Actor Award in 1978 (The Island of Dr. Moreau), Michael York can boast appearances in over 131 productions, feature films, TV films and series, including cameos in some of the most popular recent TV productions, such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, Justice League or Gilmore Girls. In 1987, he was a member of the Venice International Film Festival’s Official Competition Jury, and, in 2002, he received, from one of the most prestigious European film festivals, the Karlovy Vary City Award.
