Body of corporal killed in Afghanistan has been repatriated

The body of the Catalin-Ionel Marinescu,  a corporal elevated after his death to the rank of sub-lieutenant, who died in a blast from a makeshift bomb in Afghanistan, Tuesday, was repatriated yesterday and brought to the Military Base 90 Otopeni, where a military ceremony and religious service were held in his memory, Realitatea TV reports. The family and friends of the deceased gathered at the airport for the arrival of the dead body of late corporal Marinescu. Defence Minister Gabriel Oprea, who attended the ceremony held at the airport, delivered a speech praising the courage and devotion of Sub-lieutenant Marinescu. Mark Gitenstein, USA Ambassador to Romania, and Romanian military heads also attended the event.
